★★★★★ I have a recommendation (updated)
Thu Mar 21 2024 chengrey21Some improvements have been made, and that’s good, but I want to recommend something new: Team Battle! In the HoloSims, there should be an option for swapping PvP to TvT (Team vs. Team). You’ll find a team to fight (depending on how many players there are) and I think it will be fun! I also want to recommend adding MORE lightsabers like Mace Windu’s lightsaber, yellow lightsaber, all the colors! Including the Kyber Saber! (It’s from LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures) and they should all be obtainable via side quests! (I also recommend that players can do them in the order they want) And how about more blasters, character sets, and the ability to play any trial? i’ve also realized that it is a bit hard to beat the survival simulation, so I would also recommend adding CPUs. but here’s how it’s gonna work if you guys allow it:
TU-TOR will start the first CP at 5K then the second one at 10k and the last one at 20 K. if you want to play with other players, then the CPU(s) will automatically be removed. there will also be settings for adjustments to them, as in staying together in a group or splitting up in a different path to collect databits and increase the score. And I would also recommend adding multiplayer for the vehicle simulation cause it’s kind of not really that fun and I would also like it if you make it harder. and another thing I would recommend is to add a Lego brick storage. This will store all kinds of the brick you could find in the games like a round/square 2x2, and you can also collect paint in the game so you can paint them in the color you want to help complete your tasks. i’m thinking of more ideas so I hope these ideas will eventually make it into the game. Thanks!
★★★★★ Money glitch gets worse, makes game completely unbalanced
Wed Aug 17 2022 JamieJueHi dev team, I’ve been playing this game since launch, and I’ve noticed a consistent downward trend in the currency I can earn from replaying the observatory holosims, making me and I’m sure many others want to quit playing. To earn rewards and complete quests, players have to play the same levels over and over, and so it becomes very noticeable and frustrating when a holosim can earn up to 1.6K bits, and then after this new update, only about 800 bits. I am breaking every object, defeating every enemy, even the respawning ones, and choosing the highest corruption level every time, so I KNOW this massive decrease is real. This makes the game a lot less fun because the high prices of items begin to feel unreachable especially when we are used to almost double the bits per holosim. It is also frustrating because in these levels, many times an enemy, corrupted enemy, or object will actually not drop money at all, where PRIOR to this update they would. They may even appear to drop bits, but then vanish as soon as they touch the ground of the level, resulting in a completed 3 tier holosim earning 4-8 HUNDRED databits less than previously. This change may not be intentional, and I’m sure the disappearing bits are a glitch, but it is unplayable and we need this to be fixed to continue working to earn rewards and therefore playing at all.
★★★★★ Really fun, but flawed
Sat Nov 20 2021 Zeek1227The good: the gameplay is responsive, fun, and engaging. The level design is entertaining and well designed (if limited, but I’ll get to that). Combat rewards skill, and doesn’t overly punish mistakes. Coop is fun especially with friends. Customization through progression could be tedious to some, but I have found it to be an entertaining goal to pursue personally. The bad: there are very few maps. The maps are repayable, they are somewhat sizable, and you will have different objectives on various play throughs, but after a while it becomes tiresome dragging the same box to the same button to solve a puzzle you’ve done before. The multiplayer isn’t incredibly intuitive when dealing with random players because as far as I can tell there is no chat system aside from emotes which aren’t even communicative, rather simply cosmetic fun. I have found the pilot missions to be rather underwhelming (there are only 3 of them as far as I’ve gotten) and they don’t appear to be playable in coop. The camera can be awkward at times, though not unserviceable. The various classes are locked behind progression rather than allowing you to choose a play style at the beginning. Secondary missions are hard to track and don’t give you a solid directional arrow like main story quests do, even in the hub area. Honestly there are many flaws with this game, however it is still a very enjoyable experience. It is my favorite Apple Arcade game, and will likely be what stops me from cancelling my subscription for a while. I enjoy the base gameplay, I enjoy the progression, but I really hope to see some updates and new content (maps/modes/etc).
★★★★★ Good, but needs improvements
Tue Nov 23 2021 camdennnnSo far I’m having fun playing this game. I enjoy how the levels are laid out, however repetitive they are. I enjoy being able to select a different class if I want to. I love being able to explore inbetween chapters. Most importantly I love the absolute freedom you get. The game is by no means perfect though. One thing I think the game needs is a faster movement speed for the players. Maybe even a run button would work aswell. Another thing is that the story chapters can drag on for a while, so maybe making them not so boring or drag on for so long could help. But the biggest issue is the multiplayer restriction. You need to be 18+ in order to even access the online functionality. Most other games require lower ages than this game. Some games would make sense to have the online for 18+, but here it just doesn’t make sense. This is a lego game, known to be super family friendly, so why then is the online restriction for 18+? I doubt many adults will be playing this, so it just means that a lot of people can’t go online. I think a more fair number would be 13\14+ cause children would understand it then. If this issue was fixed, it would mean more people able to play online. PLEASE fix this problem, it doesn’t need to be 18+ for the online features.
★★★★★ The awesome is strong with this one…
Fri Dec 22 2023 AmbersteelI love this game! The graphics are fantastic, the levels are fun, and the story is interesting. I’ve always really liked games where you can run around and do just about anything you like. I can think of a few things I would like to see added, though… For starters, I’d really like it if you added new levels. The ones already in the game are great! But sometimes, playing the same levels over and over can get a liiitle repetitive. Also, I‘d like it if you added new weapons( like the Darksaber!)and skills. Another thing I would really like to see is new levels and ships for the space holosims. And maybe some new bosses too. The ships are really good, they are all unique, and they all handle differently. The TIE Fighter is TERRIBLE!😂So perfect! You did an excellent job capturing the feel (and durability)of the TIE Fighter. And all the other ships, too.(The Y-Wing is one of my favorites.) I really like the events, I can actually FINISH them! Unlike in most other games where you have to play CONSTANTLY and spend a lot of money to finish them. I would like it if you added new events more often, though. The main storyline is very interesting, and I really enjoyed it, but I wish it was longer. It would be great if you added more to it, or if you added a new storyline to the game. I would also really like it if there were other islands you could fly to and walk around on, I love exploring! And if you expanded the main island again. It would also be fun if your avatar could swim. Here’s an idea for something new: levels where you can ride animals! Imagine riding a Lothwolf! Or a Nexu! So cool sounding! Also, please make it so you can make pick your own name instead of it being randomized. Overall, I love this game! It’s one of the best LEGO games I’ve ever played! Keep up the good work!
★★★★★ This game has no controls on random multiplayer.
Fri Sep 08 2023 badlands-palaceIn the Star Wars Castaways game on Arcade / Mac there is a problem with the Imperial battleground where even my max level game (Lvl 15 support) cannot fight. I lost 30 -minutes- due to another player that was overpowering everyone. Each time I accessed the game I got thrown out or was unable to play against anyone. I've uploaded a screenshot of the players involved. This game was enjoyable until tonight. Gameloft or Disney need to either pull this game or remove hostile users. In another incident about a week ago. a player was repeatedly allowed to invite random players and then leave AFK the game. Nothing in the game stopped them from abusing it. You need to put controls on this game where it is RANDOM MULTIPLAYER. This is a basic and expected necessity in 2023. I should not have to send a screenshot each and every time. Why doesn't this game have a Player ID and Data Center listed for it? Mac isn't iOS, but MacOS isn't an option in the dropdown menu. Random matchmaking is a risky business for all video games. Game loft knows better. Apple Arcade might be silent for now, but it’s a big problem if your game supports hostile AFK activities by not allowing users to report or block hostile players. I don’t recommend this game for kids on Arcade at this time. Get them a console that sends user activity to a bigger network that will attempt to stop hostile “players.”
★★★★★ Lego SW: Castaways - Great but very unstable
Fri Sep 02 2022 T1gg3rzGreat game, graphics, storyline (albeit short and repetitive), daily and weekly tasks, hippodrome and holosim - all exceptionally fun and well done. However, especially since the last iOS update - the game is extremely unstable. Do a hippodrome or holosim (non vehicle) and game crashes. Do a task and get credit for it about 1/2 the time (took me 9 tries to finish one task that required me run through a sim twice). Finishing up the Agent class has become impossible recently as I’m stuck at 1998 out of 2000 points to finish for about 2 days - no task, sim, hippodrome will allow me to finish. Basically asking for game to add an ability to report bugs, issues, crashes inside of game versus doing it via a review. Day 3 - fewer crashes, but still crashing about 1/3 of the time (oddly still not crashing in Vehicle Holosim but Hippo and Observatory Holo still crashes though not every time like yesterday). Day 4 - frequency of crashes back to every time; back to being completely unplayable. Day 5 - new update for Bad Batch - didn’t fix crashing issues with update. Game is officially unplayable. Day 6 - tried old character, tried deleting game and reinstalling - still crashes upon EXIT from Observatory and Hippodrome (not vehicle Holo). Tried new character - played through tutorial again and doesn’t crash with new character - However will lose all progress with old character by starting over - Developers - please look into game crashing on main character! iPhone 13 with latest iOS update and this is the only game I’m finding Almost unplayable for 6 days now.
★★★★★ Amazing potential
Sun May 08 2022 Mick2LWRuleThis game was surprisingly robust, but it is rather limited in content. Simulations that you play are fun but I feel like it should be a jumping off point to something more. Once the story is done, really not a lot to do. I understand that in this format the devs are limited to what’s doable in an mmorpg, and the game really has some nice moments, especially in the vehicle sim. The 3 environments are huge and your path starts at different points on the map. There are a lot of ships to unlock but really only 2 that stand out, the Y-Wing fighter and a ship resembling Boba Fetts, both of which have auto turrets and devastating missiles. The auto turrets pick up targets you would otherwise miss. Once you use them, the other ships abilities pale in comparison, like a force field that can only take one hit or a simple roll maneuver.
My only other problem may be my own, but this game crashes often. I play on an iPad Pro but it could have an issue, though none of the other Arcade games crash.
I would play this in a different format if they expanded the world and used the sims as a training ground before joining a faction of the force and having real battles. The basics are all there and it captures the charm of the Lego Movies. Tons of potential.
